Rosthwaite to Keswick via Catbells

Today we headed off to the Lake District with mum and dad for mum’s birthday. It was also a good test of our equipment and practice for carrying heavy packs up steep hills. We parked in Keswick and caught the 78 bus up Borrowdale. We started in Rosthwaite and headed up towards dale head. The first couple of miles were steep and took us past old slate mines. We stopped just before the top of the col for some lunch.

Once we got on top of the ridge we headed over high spy, then on to maiden moor and finally Catbells.

From here we dropped down to Hawes end and on to Keswick for a 9 mile day out. The weather mostly behaved itself all day and out was great to be out on the hills. A great day out.
