Today we did a 17 mile walk from Durham to Sunderland. We caught the train to Durham and left the city with good views of the cathedral.
We had lunch sitting in a field, overlooking green fields.
About half way to Sunderland we saw a magnificent barn owl bathed in golden light. It hovered close by for a while before flying away. I moved up the bank to get a better view, only to find a camera pointing at me. Apparently a wildlife photographer already knew about this owl spot.
As we got closer to Sunderland, we followed the coastal path which was by now bathed in golden evening light. All in all a decent walk.
