Pacific Crest Trail 2012 Thru Hike!

In anticipation of our 2012 Pacific Crest Trail Thru hike, the website has now gained an ‘adventures‘ section. This will feature blog entries for anything related to adventures big and small. Photography may be the passion, but in order to create the art I need to get out there and see the world. The adventures section is dedicated to placing oneself in places and situations that may lead to great photos. Sometimes these adventures may lead to no photos, but at worst they lead to great memories and experiences.

Our next impending adventure is the greatest to date. We are walking 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail. It covers over 700 miles of desert, passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks and takes us over 60 major mountain passes. It is all unsupported, carrying everything we need for 6 months and camping amongst the mountains, trees, stars and bears! All being well, and us staying injury free, we hope to complete the full distance in less than 6 months.

Although a personal challenge and adventure, we will be using the opportunity to help raise funds for charity. We have chosen to support the People’s Kitchen. This is a local Newcastle based charity that helps feed and support homeless people in and around Newcastle. They help to feed over 650 people a week, and our support for them is needed more than ever. For more information about the People’s Kitchen, please see http://peopleskitchen.co.uk/

If you like the idea of me being chased by bears or think that feeding the homeless is a good cause, then please sponsor us. You can donate via our just giving page;

Or make donations to me in person. Any donation or support is greatly appreciated. All of the money raised goes directly to the People’s Kitchen.
